Lollipop, lollipop, oooh, lolli......

Quiet day. They are keeping Ron completely out on a cocktail of sedatives, pain med, paralytic and mild anesthetic. He will remain on all of these as well as the ventilator at least until tomorrow when Dr. Shires will change the wound vac. He will be able to tell after that if they are ready to start weaning him which could take a couple of days. They have been able to wean him off the Levophed (blood pressure med) and so far his blood pressure is a little low but stable.

His white blood count has jumped up to 30,000's which is high but not alarming since he is not running a temp. Creatinine (kidney function) remains at 1.6; Hemoglobin level is a little low so they are watching closely and may need to give him blood. They continue to pump him full of lots of fluids so he's getting pretty puffed up again, which he hates.

Please continue to pray for a complete and speedy recovery, with minimal pain.

Forgot to mention: yesterday before they got the right combination of meds and Ron was finger spelling to me, he kept spelling out lollipop! Pretty funny!! He was obviously letting me know he was in pain and knew that even if the lollipop didn't take away the pain it would at least get him to a point where he didn't care!
