Any day that's not a bad day.....

Not much to report today, hemoglobin is 8.7 (good to see back up from 8.4 yesterday), White blood cell count 20,000 (not so good that it's been climbing back up since a low of 12,000 last week) and low grade temp off and on throughout the day, not concerning. Overall, he's been feeling good; able to enjoy a bit of reading, sat up in the chair for about 30 minutes and even looked at some paperwork on the computer this evening. He did have a small problem with a stitch attaching one of his drains to skin pulling slightly out, but Dr. Elieson was able to stitch it back on there in the room.

So, as Dr. Elieson says any day that's not a bad day is a good day!

It was a busy day in Critical Care Unit...they received 10 new patients today. Please pray for the nurses, techs and doctors as they seek to care for them. And for those of us who have been here long-term; that we will be able to minister to and encourage their family members and friends. And please continue to pray for Don Calhoun (one of the other patients) and his family. His complicated surgery did not go as well as they had hoped but he's hanging in there. This is a family of strong believers; may they anchor deep in their faith right now!

Much love.
