Blessed

Hope I didn't cause anyone alarm by not sending out an update last night but we had a late night business meeting and afterwards I was exhausted!

God continues to bless!!! Yesterday, they took out Ron's arterial line and one of his Central Lines....the more tubes they can remove the less entryways for infections. His White Blood Count is still around 35,000.

Please pray specifically for:

  • Pancreatitis to completely resolve and give no more problems
  • White cell count to come down
  • Fluids to be voided w/o assistance of meds (he's retaining about 80 lbs of fluid! He says he feels like a huge watermelon)
  • Doc says one of our main areas of focus is on keeping him healthy by avoiding infection from being in the hospital...way too many germs here!
  • Pain management...between his belly pain and back pain from being laid up, it's sometimes hard to keep on top of. He really does not want to be groggy. He has been at a 7 (of 10) level of pain most of the day yesterday.

**** blood sugar levels **** last night we had a little bit of a scare, he was seeming a little lethargic and we were attributing it to the morphine and late night; when they took his blood sugar level it had dropped to 36!! NOT GOOD! When asked how he was feeling he said foggy, shaky, dizzy...but attributing them to the morphine...as soon as they infused him with some sugar, he immediately started feeling better. He's under strict instructions to tell the nurses of anything he feels that is different and let them figure out the source! Our nurse last night (Joy) told him he is not a nurse; to quit trying to do her job! Blood sugar level is huge issue; at this point a balancing act with amount of insulin level to give.

When we went in for our last visit of the night, they had the bed in a sitting position! It was so good to see him "upright"!!!

God promises to "open the floodgates of heaven" and we are definitely the recepients! Praise God for His mercy, grace and favor!!!!

TO HIM BE ALL GLORY!!!
