Joy in the journey

We started our day on a wonderful note with Ron asking Ryan to lead us as a family in a time of prayer and reading in Psalms. God especially spoke to Ron through Psalm 5:11-12

"But let all who take refuge in You be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread Your protection over them, that those who love Your name may rejoice in You. For surely, O Lord, You bless the righteous; You surround them with Your favor as with a shield"

Praises today:
  • other Central Line removed
  • blood sugar has somewhat stabilized
  • Ryan and Aaron were able to give him some much-needed grooming (mustache & goatee were looking pretty shabby!)
  • pain management has improved a great deal...as the nurse was changing his dressing on his belly early this morning she noticed he was very raw and red and asked him if he was allergic to adhesives...something we had totally forgotten to mention in the whirlwind of the week...he was blistered pretty badly which evidently was causing alot of the pain he was experiencing; they treated it with a cream and have called in a wound care specialist; after putting on fresh gauze they also put a corset-type binding on him awhich is much more comfortable
  • sat in cardio chair (bed) for @ 3 hours
  • He lost 12 lbs of fluid in the last 24 hours

Please continue to pray for everything listed previously; and especially for:

  • fluid to continue to decrease
  • for all his body to adjust to this new "normal" body system (diabetic issues, etc)
  • for healing of the blistering on belly
  • good rest for all of us but especially Ron
  • Ryan, Aaron, Kristin & me as we try to make decisions about work, school, etc

Things are looking better day by day...but we have a LONG journey ahead!

As always, we appreciate your prayer support!
