Pancreatitis~NO BUENO!!!!

Where do I begin...

First off we had a surprise visit from Aaron and Kristin! They decided to drive in last night even though Aaron has to work a lock-in tonight, so they were here less than 24 hours but so good to have them here!

Unfortunately Ron is staying true to form to all of his previous hospital stays and can't do anything simple! Today, I decided to start my day at the hospital to see if I could catch as many docs as possible. So glad I did! Ron's temperature was continuing to rise, his White blood cell count has gone up even more (now in 40,000's) and there has been blood in his urine so they have catheterized him again. He has also developed more pain, (which was finally beginning to decrease) and his heart rate is elevated (which could be from the pain). So they did another CT scan to make sure they weren't missing anything (such as a pocket of fluid, abscess, block in intestines, etc) but the CT scan had no changes from the one earlier this week...alot of inflammation of the pancreas but no sign of anything else. The doctors are frustrated, baffled, concerned...as we all are, about this step backward. They have called in an Infectious Disease Specialist to see if there is something they might be missing but so far, specialist has found nothing! They even had the pathologist do something where they look more closely at the white blood cells to see if they could possibly be cancerous but PTL they ARE NOT! They are treating him with a multitude of high-powered antibiotics to cover all their bases.

We've been told pancreatitis is a VERY BAD disease and they rate attacks as mild, moderate or severe...docs say he is on the high side of moderate. It can be a roller-coaster ride and we are on the low side today!

We know God is faithful; He has promised to never leave or forsake us...and we're clinging to this promise.

Thanks for your continued prayers!
